The Central Board of Secondary Education declared the results for the Class 12 exams conducted earlier this year, on Sunday. The overall pass percentage for Class 12 exams is 82 percent, a tad lower than 83.05% in 2016. The pass percentage for girls was 87.50% while that for boys was 78%. Close to 11 lakh candidates registered for the Class 12 exams, held between March 9 and April 29.

Likely to be an inspiration for students across the country, Raksha scored 100 marks in English, Political Science and Economics and 99 each in History and Sociology.
“I just jumped with joy at that moment and kept shaking for a few minutes,” said Raksha, on being congratulated by HRD Union Minister Prakasha Javadekar. She hopes to pursue an Honours course in Political Science from Delhi University.
