DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN SCALAR AND VECTOR QUANTITIES .
Here are the differences between scalar and vector:
Scalar | Vector |
A physical quantity which has only magnitude is known as scalar quantity. | A physical quantity which has magnitude as well as direction is known as vector quantity. |
For ex: mass, length, time, work, etc. | For ex: velocity, displacement, acceleration, etc. |
Scalars obey algebraic rules for the operations like addition and multiplication. | Vectors obey vector algebra for the operations like addition and multiplication. |
A scalar can divide another scalar. | Two vectors can never divide each other. |
